Domain Forwarding

Automatically redirecting visitors from one domain to another URL.

By DomainGlossary EditorialLast updated Mar 25, 2026

Domain forwarding (URL redirect) automatically redirects visitors from one domain to another URL. A 301 redirect is permanent and passes SEO value (link equity) to the destination. A 302 redirect is temporary and does not pass full SEO value. Domain investors use 301 redirects to consolidate traffic and link equity from multiple domains to a primary domain.
