Landrush Period

A new TLD launch phase where the general public can register domains, often at premium prices.

A landrush period is a phase of new TLD or ccTLD launches when domains become available to the general public (non-trademark holders) for the first time, typically before the standard general availability phase. Landrush registrations are often submitted at a premium price, with conflicts between multiple applicants for the same domain resolved by auction. Landrush auctions can yield significant revenue for registries on popular TLDs.
