Auth Code (EPP Code)

A one-time password required to transfer a domain from one registrar to another.

An auth code (authorization code, EPP code, or transfer code) is a unique password generated by a domain's current registrar, required to authorize a transfer to a new registrar. The registrant must request this code from their current registrar, then provide it during the transfer process at the gaining registrar. Auth codes are typically alphanumeric and case-sensitive.
