Domain Lock

A security feature that prevents a domain from being transferred without explicit unlocking.

Domain lock (registrar lock or transfer lock) is a security status that prevents unauthorized transfers away from the current registrar. A locked domain returns an EPP status of "clientTransferProhibited." Domain owners should keep their domains locked unless actively initiating a transfer. Some registrars also offer registry-level locks for high-value domains.
