.net (network) is the second most established gTLD after .com, originally intended for network infrastructure organizations. While .net has far fewer domains than .com (around 13 million), it carries more credibility than most new gTLDs. In domain investing, .net is generally worth 5–20% of an equivalent .com name. Tech companies and internet infrastructure businesses commonly use .net.
