gTLD (Generic Top-Level Domain)

A TLD not tied to a specific country — includes .com, .net, .org, .io, and hundreds of new gTLDs.

A generic top-level domain (gTLD) is a TLD not associated with a specific country, such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .io, or the newer new gTLDs introduced by ICANN's expansion program (like .app, .shop, .club). The .com gTLD remains the most valuable and widely recognized globally, commanding premium prices in the secondary market.
