Grace Period

The window after expiration when a domain can still be renewed at standard cost.

The domain grace period is the time after a domain expires during which the registrant can still renew at the standard renewal price without penalty. Grace periods vary by registrar and TLD but are typically 30–45 days. After the grace period, the domain enters the redemption period, where renewal requires a redemption fee (often $50–$200). Domain investors monitor expiring domains during the grace period.
